All About Glycolic Acid

Glycolic acid is a part of the group of AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) which are natural acids found in foods. Glycolic acid is derived from sugar cane and has the lowest molecular weight of all the acids making it the easiest to penetrate into the skin. 

Benefits: 

  • Helps clear acne and debris from the pores by exfoliating dead skin cells. 

  • Improves skin texture and reduces the appearance of an uneven complexion 

  • Reduces the appearance of thickening skin 

  • Helps smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

Suitable for: 

  • Congested skin

  • Aging or mature skin

  • Hyperpigmentation 

  • Rough or bumpy skin 

  • Dull skin

Glycolic acid can be irritating for sensitive skin and is not recommended. 

Pair with: 

  • Vitamin C (brightening)

  • Hyaluronic Acid (hydrating)

  • Salicylic Acid (decongestion) 

Alternate with: Retinol (firming)
